In September I got the opportunity to swim with two whale sharks. For the purposes of research 2-3 whale sharks are kept in a huge net off of Torii Beach, Okinawa. You might think that the animals would want to get out but they're released when typhoons come by the island and always come back. The shark handlers wouldn't let us feed them.
